Bok-Hee

Bok-hee is an American Hair stylist, born in Michigan, and now based in New York. She has worked on many publications, including Numero, Elle, W, Dazed & Confused, and for Vogues all over the world such as, Australia, America, China, Germany and Korea, as well as others. Her work is primarily editorial, and some runway, such as Cynthia Rowley ss11. I liked the slick look this had, and how the silver had been combed through to give the girls a 'classic look with a street twist.' (YouTube, 2010) The hair team for this look was led by Bok-Hee for Antonio Prieto salon.

I was really attracted to her work when I saw it on Streeters (http://www.streeters.com/.) I really like her kind of messy style, but how she can also do a very sleek, chic look. I like the messy style she creates, as it still has a thought process behind it, as well as a certain amount of skill. This is something I would like to achieve in my work.

One of my favourite editorial looks by her, was a editorial from April 2014 Australian Vogue. The title of it was 'Tomorrow's Tribe,'

I really like the messy fishtail plaits, and how they are in different sizes and thicknesses all over the head. It really suits the look, and adds to the kind of nomad, rustic feel it has. Even though the look is messy, the technical skill to make it look good is still there, and this is something I would like to explore as I like the outcome it often has,
