Dolce & Gabbana Jewellery AW14

 D&G jewellery ads

Dolce & Gabbana's AW14 jewellery campaign is very true to their brand. With their signature Italian lace designs and dark berry lip, the campaign is very focused on the model and the intimacy between the model and audience. This is a little different from their usual family orientated clothing campaigns.

The model, Dolce & Gabbana favourite, Katie King, has their typical Sicilian glow to her skin, that Dolce & Gabbana carry throughout their collections, whether it be a jewellery or fashion campaign. Her hair is centre parted and smoothed down over her ears, giving her a Sicilian aristocrat feel. Her jewels add to this regal feel, and her slick and clean makeup finishes off the look.

The makeup is very typical of the Dolce & Gabbana brand, and is very recognisable. The skin is flawless, and looks as if a full coverage foundation would have been used, with some concealer under the eyes, and to hide any blemishes. There is a slight contour to her cheeks, with a bronzer, possibly with a shimmer, on her cheekbones, to give her that tanned Italian glow. A highlighter also looks like it has been applied to the cheek, nose and lip area, to create more defined features.

Her eyebrows are groomed into shape, and lightly filled in, to give them shape but not overpower the look, as the eyes and lips are the main points.
The eyes are big brown and almond shaped. A darker brown is used in the crease and a slightly lighter brown used under the eye. A highlight is used in the corner of the eye, and the inner bottom lash line, to open the eye out. Liner has been used on top lid along with mascara to define the eye and make it stand out.

Lastly a dark red berry colour has been added to the lips, synonymous with the brand. They are perfectly shaped so, it looks as if they were lined first and then swept over with a satin lipstick to give the lips a slight shine.

Overall the look is very romantic and intimate. It is still very classic and could be worn on many different people for many different occasions. I think this is why Dolce & Gabbana have such a strong brand appearance, so that anyone can kind of be part of their brand.
