Chanel AW14

Chanel AW14 Campaign, featuring Cara Delenvigne and Binx Walton. Photographed by Karl Lagerfeld

The Chanel AW14 campaign, was shot by the legendary Karl Largerfeld, and modelled by Chanel regular, Cara DeLevingne and Leona Binx Walton. The campaign has a kind of tough feel to it, which suits the backdrop for the look.

Hair royalty, Sam McKnight, designed the hair for this season, which was a slicked back high ponytail that incorporated dreads, crimped extensions, and material. I think it works nicely with the overall look, and if the braids and dreads were slightly toned down, could probably come back into fashion.
I really like how he has managed to make a stereotypically scruffy hairstyle into something quite pretty and high fashion.

The makeup is very simple for this season, with fresh, clean skin and a heavier contour on the cheeks. Brows are filled in to frame the face and a black liner is used on top of the lid, along with a black mascara. It gives the face quite a classy look, which contrasts with the slightly darker and sportier look from the collection. The lip was very natural for this look, just a subtle pink colour, which was cleverly matched to pinks in the dreads.

Overall I really liked this campaign, especially the hair. I think that the texture of it, and the way it was designed was very cool, and is possibly something that will be appearing more on the runway, and the high street.
